Confirm Attendance at BPM in November
We are exhibiting at the new BPM show in November. BPM is a new event for DJs,
KJs, music producers and performers.
A personal message from Ultimax’s Andy Tain
This is
an important development for the end user and the trade in the DJ side of the
industry. With the London PLASA show having actively ignored end users for the
last decade, every year what was the “motor show” for our industry gets less
and less relevant. We, with about 20 other key exhibitors, simply no longer
attend. The show has lost it soul and relevance to end users. It has moved
further and further away from the shows with real ummph like Frankfurt, Namm
and the Vegas DJ show.
There
are small regional UK shows, and we actively support and attend them (our
respect goes out to NADJ, DJ Show North, DJ Pro, e.t.c.) and these shows need
to continue – they have a place in the annual calendar. But the need for a
bigger, longer, more interactive, national show has been screaming at the
industry for years.
I
personally know the people behind BPM. They are passionate and dedicated to
the cause. They are driven daily to make this show the success it deserves to
be. They have given up their full time employment to make this happen! I
totally applaud their dedication.
I have
moaned for years about the direction of the PLASA show - even to the point of
motions to the AGM (out voted obviously) when we were members of PLASA – and I
have listened to manufacturers, retailers and end users moaning as well. I
truly believe it’s time for us all to “put up or shut up.”
With the right support from the industry and end users this has the real
potential to become the new PLASA.
As
Ultimax we have taken a more space to exhibit than at any exhibition .. ever,
there are other industry names who are really putting a fantastic amount of
effort into this event.
I urge
the industry and end users to support the event. Spread the word, and let’s
make this the success it needs to be to roll out and expand year on year.
Over the weekend of Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th November 2007
the leading DJ equipment manufacturers and distributors will present their
latest technology for you to look at, but more importantly get your hands on.
BPM will be an opportunity to try out the latest equipment and speak to the
people behind it and then if you find what you are looking for – buy it!
The exhibition area will not only play host to equipment brands, but also a
range of service providers ranging from insurance companies to flyer/business
card printers and music promo services to DJ associations. Find out what is
available, talk face-to-face with suppliers and make the contacts that will help
to set you apart from the crowd.
BPM will also be the ideal place to meet and network with other DJs and
entertainment professionals, share ideas and be inspired to move forward. Plenty
of entertainment agents will also be attending the show, which will make it the
ideal place to meet with people who can help you make the next step.
The seminar program at BPM will offer a unique opportunity to meet with and
learn from a group of speakers with specialised fields of expertise and a
passion for sharing their knowledge with fellow professionals. The seminars will
cover everything from getting bookings, getting better fees, the latest
legislation and how to utilise the latest technology. It doesn’t matter if you
are new to DJing or have been going since the 60s, as long as you are willing to
learn and want to move forward, the BPM
seminars will have
something to offer.
If you are serious about DJing, you need to be at BPM!
